The Italian group has acquired a new contract worth around 30 million euros for high voltage underground cables for the "North Shore cable upgrade" project from Ausgrid, a public utility in the state of New South Wales (Australia).

Prysmian Group, active in the energy and telecommunications cable systems sector, has acquired a new contract worth around 30 million euro for high voltage underground cables for the "North Shore cable upgrade" project from Ausgrid, utility of the state of New South Wales (Australia) which manages the energy distribution and transmission networks.

The contract is in addition to the small "Engadine" contract worth around 5 million euros acquired in September 2013. These projects, a note explains, are part of the Ausgrid network modernization plan, under which the replacement of and equipment installed for about 40 years.

Two areas are involved in the projects: the Willoughby-Lindfield-Castle Cove area in the northern coastal area of ​​Sydney and the Engadine area just south of Sydney. The contracts include the design, manufacture, supply (including civil engineering works), installation and testing of Xlpe insulated 132 kV underground cables for both projects. Australia is an important market for Prysmian which has a number of projects already completed and under construction.
