Industrial production will grow by 0,1% per month in April. It is the estimate of Study Center of Confindustria, which signals an incoming slowdown compared to the figure released this morning by Istat, according to which an increase of 0,4% was recorded in March compared to February.
In comparison with September 2014, the previous minimum point, the levels of activity - notes the Centro Studi di Confindustria - are 1,5 percent higher.
Industrial production in the first quarter, reads the rapid survey of the CsC, had a progress of 0,3% on the fourth quarter of 2014, when +0,2% was recorded on the third quarter (revised upwards from the -0,1% previously indicated). The acquired change in industrial production in the second quarter of 2015 is +0,6% (+0,5% inherited from the first).
The leading qualitative indicators signal a further strengthening of the activity in the current quarter: the total orders component of Markit manufacturing SME – in an area of expansion for the third consecutive month – indicates robust growth in April, higher than that recorded in March (index at 54,8, from 54,5) and supported above all by domestic demand; the foreign orders component nonetheless shows a very positive trend.
