Aifin awards: Intesa Sanpaolo the most innovative bank

Breakthrough Financial Institution of the Year 2020. This is the exact name of the prize just awarded by AIFIn, the main Italian think tank on financial innovation, to the Intesa Sanpaolo banking group on the occasion of the AIFIn Financial Innovation – Italian Awards.

These are the reasons written in a note: “Even in a complicated and unpredictable economic and social context, such as that caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, Intesa Sanpaolo has confirmed and relaunched its vocation for innovation, placing it at the service of new ways of approaching and relating with its customers, businesses and households, seizing all the opportunities offered by technology and digitization and promoting the development of sustainability initiatives and projects, inspired by the founding values and principles of ESG (Environment, Social, Governance)”.

That of most innovative financial institution is the most important but it is not the only award brought home by Intesa Sanpaolo in this edition: a total of eight projects by the group led by Carlo Messina obtained the best placement, first and in second place, in the different categories. Here they are, in sequence: medium-long term financing S-Loan, for which Intesa Sanpaolo has set aside a ceiling of 2 billion euro; The “Near Banking – Digital Transformation of Factoring”; the app Intesa Sanpaolo Mobile; the project Winning companies, with the aim of enhancing Italian SMEs; Grow Protected, Intesa Sanpaolo's ESG initiative in the Health area, developed in collaboration with the Francesca Rava Foundation; SmartSave, the first “mobile only” investment service; Ellis, the artificial intelligence virtual assistant; and finally Eurizon WISE, the training system created by the SGR through a digital platform to develop financial literacy.
