Prada, change at the top: Miuccia leaves the presidency, now it's up to Mazzi

The Milanese fashion company announces a change at the top: the new president of the board is Carlo Mazzi, former deputy of Miuccia Prada, who resigns to take on the role of co-CEO alongside the CEO (and husband) Patrizio Bertelli – The granddaughter of the founder will focus on “creative design and brands and communication activities”.

Dress change for Prada. Carlo Mazzi, a former manager of San Paolo-Imi who joined the company in 2004, is the new chairman of the board of directors. The role was held by Miuccia Prada, who resigned to take on the role of co-CEO alongside CEO (and husband) Patrizio Bertelli.

Carlo Mazzi, former vice president and executive director of the group, is also director of Gipafin, the Luxembourg holding that controls Prada Holding Bv, which controls the majority of the group.

From now on, Miuccia Prada “will concentrate on the day-to-day management of the maison's activities, dedicating more time to guide the further development of the company; mainly in creative design and brands and communication activities”, explains the Milanese company listed on the Hong Kong stock exchange.

The fashion house this week revealed 2013 revenue growth driven by demand in Asia and Europe, realizing total sales last year of $3,586 billion, up 9% from the previous year.
