Poste Italiane: 330 electric motorcycles for postmen

Postal workers will travel on electric three-wheeled motorcycles. The company led by Matteo Del Fante has purchased 330 new vehicles powered by electricity, all of which are already circulating on Italian roads.

There are 55 in service in the capital alone, with the aim of streamlining the e-Commerce mail and parcel delivery system, especially in the historic center and in limited traffic areas, with a lower environmental impact and greater safety for workers guaranteed by the three wheels and by the greater load space guaranteed by the trunk which allows you to carry up to 210 liters compared to the 76 guaranteed by traditional motorcycles.

“The three-wheeled electric motorcycle (two rear and one front) is 100% electrically powered, with a power of 4 kW which guarantees a maximum speed in line with the limits imposed by the highway code in built-up areas. The vehicle is equipped with a large energy autonomy which will allow postmen to deliver daily correspondence with a single top-up”, Poste Italiane announced in a note.

The new vehicles are in line with theESG – Environmental Social and Governance approved by the group's board of directors last August 2018, an action plan on environmental and social sustainability which aims to guarantee the definition of the group's guidelines with positive effects for the territory.
