Farewell popular: CiviBank becomes Spa and Benefit

CiviBank (formerly Banca di Cividale) is the first Italian cooperative bank to transform itself into a joint-stock company and a benefit company. With a profit of 6,8 million euros and about 600 employees in 2020, the Friulian bank chaired by Michela Del Piero broke the news of the "double transformation" approved by the Shareholders' Meeting with a percentage of votes in favor equal to 94 %.

Despite the health crisis, which gave rise to a meeting very different from the traditional ones, and its third transformation in its 135-year history, CiviBank achieved a very high attendance compared to past attended meetings, with 2.351 of the voters.

A change that will make it possible to expand the Institute's capital base in order to reach the growth targets of the Strategic Plan to 2023: achieve a net profit of over 14 million euros and pursue ESG objectives.

On one side the autonomy of the institution remains unchanged, a central element that will continue to accompany CiviBank's future objectives and relations with customers, employees and partners. On the other hand, the range of action is extended through the further development of applications, theextension of the presence in Veneto, Trentino and Emilia and the expansion of the range of products offered, which can be achieved thanks to the new legal form.

“We are really satisfied to have received a positive response on the double transformation and above all to have received such broad support, for which I sincerely thank our Shareholders, on behalf of all CiviBank. - he has declared Michela Del Piero, President of CiviBank We will work even harder to reciprocate their trust, making a commitment both from the point of view of the institution's profitability and margins, and in supporting our Clients, businesses and families that we will be able to serve in an even more structured and close and with great attention to the social, governance and environmental dimension of our action”.
