Pirelli confirms the targets for the end of 2014. Despite the difficult phase and the slowdown in some areas – said the president and CEO Marco Tronchetti Provera on the sidelines of an event at the Hangar Bicocca – “our activities as a whole confirm the targets for the end of year. In some areas they go faster, in others less, but what leaves us calm are our actions in terms of improving the product mix, efficiencies and improving technologies".
During the half-yearly report, Pirelli indicated consolidated revenues of around 6,2 billion with an EBIT of 850 million after restructuring charges. Last week, indications from Michelin's management about the growing difficulty in meeting the 2014 revenue targets had contributed to weakening the financial stocks of the tire sector groups.
