Pirelli, online activities for employees and children

"Welfare has a long tradition for Pirelli", says a note from the tire company to corroborate the news that the attention paid to employees and their families also continues online. As? With playful-educational activities for the children of employees, mindfulness practices, yoga, pilates and workout classes and a virtual family care desk for useful advice on managing everyday life. All strictly online, in fact, given that it is better not to go to the office for a while longer due to the Covid-19 health emergency.

To help smart working parents in managing their children, Pirelli has therefore activated the programme “Pirelli Smart Kids”, weekly online "edutainment" activities for employees' children aged 3 to 11 who, divided by age group, will be able to participate in various workshops divided by thematic areas. Among them, that to stimulate creativity, That of English, the laboratory dedicated to tech and to innovation and many others. Within this programme, a leading role is played by the Pirelli Foundation and by Pirelli HangarBicocca who will make their educational experiences available with workshops and digital teaching activities linked to corporate culture and art.

Furthermore, Pirelli, to support the psychophysical well-being of its employees, has activated an offer of online courses, totally free, of 'mindfulness', held by specialists in the subject, and by well-being (yoga, stretching, pilates, physical exercise) with the possibility of doing exercises from home with a dedicated trainer. Since the beginning of the emergency, these tools have been joined by one family care desk which gives employees the opportunity to receive useful support in managing family and social problems. A listening center designed to support "caregiver" employees, i.e. those engaged in the care of a non self-sufficient relative, and people who are going through moments of important change within their own family unit.

In addition, to support smart working, Pirelli has made corporate training available on the online platform “Learning Lab”, two new sections dedicated to providing employees - through videos, tutorials and guides - with all the information for even more effective use of the digital tools already available for working from home.

Finally, with the aim of encouraging sustainable mobility and facilitating home-office travel (even once the precautionary phase has passed), Pirelli will make available to its employees some electric bikes of Pirelli CYCL-e around, the top-of-the-range pedal assisted bike rental service. The initiative also represents a pilot test in the context of the development of large-scale initiatives also aimed at other companies. Always attentive to the issue of mobility, Pirelli has already made a changing room area equipped with showers available to its cyclist employees for some time.
