Piaggio, strategic plan: turnover of 2 billion in 2014

At the end of the four-year period, the Pontedera-based company plans to obtain an Ebitda of around 300 million, with an Ebitda margin of 15%, and a net financial position of around 340 million – Special attention to the Asian markets.

Piaggio presented the new Strategic Plan for the period 2011-2014, at the end of which the Italian group aims to obtain a consolidated turnover of approximately 2 billion euros. The plan - communicates the Pontedera company - was presented to the board of directors by the chairman and CEO Roberto Colaninno and envisages in 2014 a Ebitda around 300 million, with an Ebitda margin of 15%, and a net financial position of around 340 million, with an improvement in the net debt/Ebitda ratio from 1,7 to 1,1.

The group expects to achieve “significant growth in sales volumes – explains Piaggio in a note -, thanks to the development of its presence on emerging markets, reaching sales of approximately 2014 units in 1.035.000, and a significant increase also in terms of revenues".

The plan “aims for one decisive growth in emerging markets with a high rate of development". In particular, expansion of the vehicle and engine ranges is envisaged for Asia, “as well as the completion of entry into the Indonesian market and entry into new Asian markets, also thanks to the increase in the production capacity of Piaggio Vietnam”.

By mid-morning, Piaggio stock gained more than one point in Piazza Affari, going against the trend of the Milanese price list, which is still in the red.
