Oil, Up: in Italy consumption down by 6% in July

Italians are reducing their oil consumption. In July, the drop was 6% compared to the same month in 2010, according to data provided by Up. A big difference, even if overall we still managed to burn 6,4 million tons of black gold. The collapse is even more evident if we focus attention only on the fuel sector, which last month recorded a drop of 7,6% on an annual basis. The total demand has reached 3 million tons. Of these 0,8 for petrol and 2,2 for diesel. In the January-July period, the two fuels show a drop of 0,9%. Broadening the gaze to the first six months of 2011, however, the data is much less sensational (-0,6%) but still resists a decline on an annual basis.
