VAT numbers, Franco: "New non-repayable aid is on the way"

Italian VAT numbers will receive new non-repayable aid. This was announced on Monday by the Minister of Economy, Daniele Franco, during a parliamentary hearing on the Sostegni bis decree.

"The number of applications for support, which we expected to be in the order of 3 million, was actually lower - explained the number one of the Treasury - The Revenue Agency shows a number slightly lower than 2 million: it is important that the resources that are not used in the decrees are then used to strengthen other non-repayable contributions".

In short, "there are resources that are somehow freed up and that must be reused - added Franco - the Sostegni bis decree provides that these resources can be used to raise the turnover bracket of the VAT numbers to 15 million from 10 million intervention. There may be an amount beyond what is needed to extend the intervention. The hypothesis would be to use this margin for the summer intervention calculated on the basis of operating results: the 4 billion currently indicated could become a more considerable figure”.

COLLECTION OF DOCUMENTS: POSSIBLE A NEW REFERRAL

For the collection problem, according to the minister, it is necessary to organize "a gradual restart, which does not have a negative impact on businesses". In any case, sooner or later “the Agency's activity will have to restart: extensions can be discussed, interventions that smooth it out. We have deferred to June 30, we can, especially in the context of this year, see if there are still margins”.

WORK: THE GOVERNMENT WILL SUPERVISE THE LAYOUTS

On the labor front, the number one on Via XX Settembre sent out a reassuring message: "I wouldn't expect a huge wave of layoffs from July 52st", when the blockade expires, because "obviously the Government will monitor what happens. What the Government has done is to say that from July XNUMXst the freeze on layoffs ends for the sectors that already had layoffs, such as manufacturing and construction, but by resetting the counter for each company which therefore has potentially XNUMX weeks of cash ahead , with the additional charges zeroed and, moreover, tax relief. Whatever tense situation there was, or major events, the Government will obviously be ready to intervene".

ALITALIA: CLOSING WITH THE COMMISSION BY JUNE

Finally, Franco also spoke of the future of Alitalia, making an appointment at the end of June: “The dialogue with the Commission is reaching its final stage, we expect to close within the month and that the Commission recognizes the situation of discontinuity with the old Alitalia. The transition from Alitalia, currently a commissariat, to Ita, which will be a new company, will involve a difficult transition. The various assets of Alitalia will pass to Ita with tenders: we count that the Alitalia brand will have to pass to the new company, it is a transitional phase and we are trying to ensure that this does not compromise the summer season".
