It will be a Spring Festival that is held on 6 and 7 April at the millenary Castle of Tabiano. The castle dominates the hills of Salsomaggiore Terme in the province of Parma and will host the first edition of “Flowers, Knowledge and Flavors”. An entire weekend dedicated to the excellence of the Emilia region – culatello, ham, porcini mushrooms, honey, Parmigiano Reggiano, strolghino – but also to flowers and culture.

Protagonist it Star chef Massimo Spigaroli, "Ambassador of Italian cuisine", collaborator of Prince Charles of England and patron, together with his brother Luciano, of the Antica Corte Pallavicina temple of Emilian gastronomy and hospitality. In particular, the demonstration will be a preview of the events that will celebrate Parma as Capital of Culture 2020: “We will build spaces and times for meeting and dialogue, recognizing the multicultural richness of our history, transforming our gaze on today with it. We will have the task of arousing culture in the neighborhoods, of creating thought and well-being together with all the institutions and associations of the city, reaching, with every effort, to involve every single citizen. We will do so without forgetting that we are talking to Italy, that we must always look beyond our borders, because Italy means Europe and, again, the great Time that has brought us to this goal", explained the mayor of Parma Federico Pizzarotti .
Parma has been nominated by UNESCO as a creative city for gastronomy, with its cathedral, baptistery, the Regio and Farnese theatres, the Academia Barilla and, not far away, Verdi's places, the Labyrinth of the Masone, the Castles of the Duchy.

Not only will the excellence of food be the protagonists of the two culinary days, but also nurserymen and craftsmen for those who love plants and flowers as well as food. For fans of revisited traditional recipes and in an 'original version', the chef of the 'Antico Caseificio' restaurant of the 'Antico Borgo di Tabiano Castello' Relais de Charme - together with the students of the Salsomaggiore Hotel Management School - will offer visitors impromptu tastings.

The event can be accessed with a ticket costing 10 euros which includes the possibility of also visiting the Terme Berzieri di Salsomaggiore, Art Nouveau masterpiece unique in Europe. The Municipality of Salsomaggiore, which sponsors the event, has provided a shuttle to connect the Castle of Tabiano and the Thermal Baths.
