Pambianco: fashion and luxury increasingly towards the Stock Exchange, the king of quotables is still Armani

Among the listed fashion and luxury companies, it is always in pole position Giorgio Armani, followed by the Ermenegildo Zegna Group. In third position Stefano Ricci who takes over from Dolce&Gabbana. Among the furniture and design companies, the first 3 places were won again this year by Flos, Kartell and B&B Italia.

This is what emerges from the annual research conducted by strategic consultancy firm Pambianco, particularly active in these sectors, presented today in Milan at the Stock Exchange. The research, conducted in partnership with EY (Earnst & Young), aims to identify the Italian companies that have the technical and objective requirements to be listed on the Stock Exchange over a time horizon of 3/5 years, regardless of the actual listing.

The study selected the top 50 companies of Fashion and Luxury and the top 15 of Furniture and Design, taking eight factors into consideration: 1. Growth (2013 out of 2010) 2. Average Ebitda % of the last 3 years 3. Brand awareness 4. Size 5. Export 6. Distribution strength (direct stores) 7. Debt 8. market.

As far as the growth in turnover is concerned, it should be noted that the Fashion & Luxury sector, with an 2014% growth in 8,8 turnover it has an almost double rate compared to the Furnishing & Design sector which grows by 4,6%. As for the economic performance of the top 50 Fashion and Luxury companies and the top 15 Home and Design companies, it emerges that the profitability of the two sectors is very similar today.

Another piece of information that emerges from the research is that the number of new entries in 2015 was 8 for the Fashion & Luxury sector and 3 for the Furniture & Design sector. The number of new entries was obviously matched by an equivalent number of companies exiting the rankings. However, it should be noted that leaving the ranking does not necessarily mean that their performance has been negative (although this may be the case), but that companies with a better performance have entered the ranking. The following entered fashion: Brandy Melville (immediately in ninth position), Herno, DMT (Diamant), Alfaparf, Marcolin, La sportive, Stroili Oro, Colmar.

As regards the methodology used by Pambianco to define the ranking of companies that can be listed in the two sectors considered, it should be noted that the research started from the analysis of data relating to a sample made up of 850 Fashion and Luxury companies and 180 Furniture and Design companies. These realities were then ordered with the quotation assessment model developed by Pambianco, in order to identify the top 50 companies in the Fashion and Luxury sector and the top 15 in the Furniture and Design sector. The following 8 factors were taken into consideration for the evaluations:
