Anie Observatory: automation grows by 13,5%, revenues to 5 billion

Positive signs of sustained growth emerge from the new Observatory of the Italian Automation Industry of Anie Automazione, one of the 14 associations of ANIE Confindustria which, with its 100 member companies, represents in Italy the point of reference for companies supplying automation technologies factory, process and network.

The industry of the sector, in fact, grew by 13,5% considering the technologies and applications represented by ANIE Automazione with revenues of +11,6%, nearly 5 billion euros. Growth, also positively supported by the incentives made available by the Industry 4.0 Plan, confirms the dynamism and vitality of one of the most important sectors within the national economic scenario and represents a new all-time high.

According to the ANIE Automazione Observatory, the business segments linked to the production and management of growing masses of data recorded better growth performances. Wireless factory solutions grow by almost 29,5%, followed by those related to industrial networking with a growth of around 26% and by Rfid systems for data traceability with +25%.

Compared to the foreign market, technologies for industrial automation recorded an annual increase of 6,8% and, at a European level, the first destination markets (Germany, France and Spegna) represent 30% of the total exported. Considering non-European countries, the Asian continent represents 20% of total exports (12% East Asia, 6% Middle East and 2% Central Asia).

The focus of this year's ANIE Automazione Observatory is dedicated to Training 4.0. The fourth digital revolution is introducing radical transformations, including cultural ones, in the labor market and requires virtuous training courses capable of giving rise to adequate skills to avoid the creation of brakes to implement them, especially for SMEs.

“Today the demand for work is transforming at great speed and the skills required are increasingly articulated and complex. Hence the need to spread a more open and competent culture in digital and scientific knowledge at all levels, to enhance specialized and technical training, and to strengthen soft skills (creativity, managerial skills, ability to solve problems in technologically complex contexts )" commented Fabrizio Scovenna, President of ANIE Automazione "The goal that we set ourselves, even with the tools made available by the Business Plan 4.0, is to maximize the new job opportunities linked to the fourth industrial revolution, developing new digital skills".
