One arrives bonus for newsstands. The Revenue Agency recalled on its webzine FiscoOggi the opening of applications for obtain a support contribution of newsagent's. Applications opened on February 8th and may be submitted by March 8, 2024.
Il one-off contribution up to 3.000 euros is a flat rate and is recognized regardless of the number of sales points. The aid is intended to support newsstands, which are increasingly less present on the local market.
Newsstand bonus: how to send the application
The questions to get the bonus must be presented exclusively online through the portal impresainungiorno.gov.it.
The procedure can be accessed through the reserved area by clicking on the link "Presidency of the Council of Ministers - Department for Information and Publishing" > "One-off newsstand bonus 2023" in the "Online services" menu. It is necessary to authenticate with the digital identity via Spid, Cns or Electronic Identity Card (Cie).
Newsstand bonus: contribution of up to 3 thousand euros
The contribution for newsstands can arrive up to € 2.000, but rises to 3.000 euros for exclusive sales points in internal areas. The financial support is granted on the condition of carrying out at least one of the following activities in the period between 1 January and 31 December 2023:
- implementation of home delivery projects for daily newspapers and periodicals
- Sunday opening equal to at least 50% of Sundays on an annual basis
- supply of publications to neighboring businesses. The activation of one or more additional sales points is also required
Newsstands in Italy
According to the National Autonomous Newsagents Union, the there are around 12.000 newsstands in Italy, of which almost half carries out other activities in addition to selling newspapers and periodicals, which remains predominant. Between 2021 and 2022, they recorded a contraction of 3,5%, but this decline was significantly less marked than in previous years (-13,3% between 2018 and 2019, -6,5% between 2020 and 2021), thanks to the support measures that limited the closure of businesses in the sector.
Il desertification risk remains high, especially in municipalities with a fragile or non-existent presence of newsstands: 25% of Italian municipalities do not have a single newsstand, while 30% (around 2.500 municipalities) only have one resale.
