Vignaioli Artigiani Naturali: in Rome from 5 to 7 November the Spontaneous Wine Fair

For lovers of wine grown without defined protocolsthe appointment in Rome, on 5, 6 and 7 November for the autumn fair promoted byNatural Artisans Winegrowers Association which he will present, in the pavilions of City of the Other Economy, in Testacciobeyond 300 types of natural wine, grown and matured according to a philosophy of pure environmental sustainability.

The cellars of the so-called “spontaneous wine”, chey, in addition to tasting, can also be purchased, they will come from all over Italy to present their journeys linked to biodiversity and environmental vitality. A journey in stages between the more and less known Italian wine areas that will become an opportunity for discussion and exploration, for connoisseurs and the normal public.

The association of Natural Artisan Winegrowers currently brings together 27 Italian wineries, whose commitment is to produce totally natural wines, in full respect of the life of the earth, plants and man.

Safeguarding and protecting the vineyards and the entire ecosystem is the basic philosophy that saw the birth of the first artisan wineries over ten years ago, and grow through the determination to communicate, through one's own work, the meaning of the tradition of the territory in the expression of its wine and food culture.

The wines are made without defined protocols, giving space to one's creativity and experience, and it is precisely this difference in history and culture that is the true richness of the product. To create a wine, therefore, all the practices useful for promoting the vitality of the land for the development and health of the plants are adopted, without forcing interventions and above all by abstaining from any product that damages the biological balance of the vineyard, according to the practices in use in organic and biodynamic agriculture.

“By calling a wine 'natural' – explain the organizers – we intend to underline a cultural, philosophical and spiritual concept concerning the relationship between man and nature. In wine, the expression of this relationship is spontaneous fermentation, the moment of natural transformation from must to wine, when the work in the vineyard gives way to that in the cellar. This is the moment in which all the uniqueness of the vintage and of the terroir can be delivered to the wine”.

According to the Charter of Intents designed by VAN, natural wine is: an integral and vital wine because it is obtained from grapes from organic or biodynamic agriculture, also self-certified, an agricultural product obtained by the winemaker who directly follows all the production phases, from the cultivation of the vine to the packaging in the bottle; a wine obtained only from own grapes, grown directly, or, if purchased, from vineyards of organic or biodynamic producers of the same territory (no more than 30% of the total), above all obtained from spontaneous fermentations, without the use of selected yeasts or bacteria manufactured in the laboratory, without adding none of the additives or oenological adjuvants allowed by the conventional disciplinary and also by that of organic and biodynamic wine, in vinification, maturation and refinement. free from those invasive physical or chemical manipulations and treatments admitted by the conventional or organic wine regulations. info@vignaioliartigianinaturali.it
