Napoli-Dinamo 0-0: qualification postponed

The Azzurri disappoint but remain first in their group: to pass the round it will be enough not to lose in the last match against Benfica in Lisbon.

Napoli-Dinamo 0-0: qualification postponed

All postponed. Napoli did not go beyond a gray 0-0 home draw with Dynamo Kiev and saw the qualification for the round of 3 fade away with a game to spare, albeit not entirely their fault. Yes, because the missed verdict had already arrived before even taking the field: the "fault" of the 3-XNUMX draw between Besiktas and Benfica, who faced each other a few hours earlier due to the Turkish summer time. An equal, that of Istanbul, which had in fact taken away all hope from Sarri's team, who could not have detached the pass for the round of XNUMX even by winning.

As previously mentioned, everything will be decided in the last round: the Azzurri, currently top of the group, would even need a draw against Benfica to qualify, but the Portuguese, undermined by Besiktas, will do everything to win and Napoli ranks.

Terrible scenario, the worst for those who, not later than a month ago, commanded the group by virtue of beautiful and convincing victories, applauded by the press from all over Europe. But then Milik's injury arrived and things, just like in the league, fell apart.

“The boys were conditioned by the result in Istanbul – explained Sarri. – When they heard about the 3-3 final they understood that winning or drawing would have been equal and that certainly influenced us. Of course, our goal is to make sure that this doesn't happen, but it's clear that it's difficult to have blood in your eyes when you know that between winning and drawing, nothing changes."

There may also be a justification but it is clear that Napoli's problems do not arise only in yesterday's match. The team is no longer able to play with the same speed as before and when it is near the opposing area it is very difficult to become dangerous. De Laurentiis will have to take note: Sarri needs a striker, no ifs, ands or buts. Unfortunately for him, however, the market will open after the match in Lisbon, in which Napoli will need much more to qualify for the round of XNUMX.

In fact, the team seen yesterday is at great risk: the maneuver is too slow, limp and convoluted, so much so that Dinamo Kiev (only one point and already eliminated) returned to Ukraine with a sensational draw. The chances of Insigne, Hamsik and Gabbiadini were too impromptu to bring home the entire stake, demonstrating a very different Naples from that of the recent past. Sarri has the task of finding the solution in the short term, otherwise he will have to deal with the first failure of the season.
