Mps: Treasury will not be the first shareholder

The Treasury will not become the first shareholder of MPS. Il Monte communicated that, contrary to what was believed by the bank itself, the Ministry of the Economy has asked the institute to provide for the payment in monetary form of interest, equal to 2016 million, relating to the financial year, by the scheduled deadline of 45,994 July 2015 15 accrued on the New Financial Instruments redeemed on 2015 June XNUMX (the so-called Monti Bonds). This payment - specifies Mps - will have no effect on the bank's capitalization levels.

In recent weeks, the orientation to pay the interest on the Monti bonds in shares had emerged, which would have led the Treasury to become by far the institute's first shareholder. With the chosen formula, the Mef remains at the current 4,04%, while the leading shareholder remains Fintech with 4,5 percent.
