Monte dei Paschi di Siena, Mps Capital Services and Mediocredito Centrale – Banca del Mezzogiorno together for Southern Italy. In recent days, the three subjects signed two important collaboration agreements with the aim of developing joint intervention synergies to facilitate access to credit for companies in the South, placing themselves at the disposal of southern entrepreneurs with two fundamental objectives: support access to credit for companies in the South, promoting synergies between credit policies and development initiatives, and enhancing the strengths of the southern economic fabric, with the primary aim of facilitating and supporting new entrepreneurial initiatives.

Southern businesses will be able to obtain access to credit from several institutions by starting a single contact channel with one of the banks that signed the agreements, which do not envisage particular constraints regarding the sectors, projects and initiatives to be financed. The financing operations that will be structured, be they project finance, acquisition finance, structured finance or ordinary loans, will be developed according to the logic of risk sharing and can therefore take the form of club deals or pool loans, also with the possibility of guarantees and public subsidies in support. With a particularity regarding MPS Capital Services, the corporate & investment bank of Mps, which will focus on loans worth at least 5 million euros.

“The development of the entrepreneurial fabric of the South is the qualifying objective of Mediocredito Centrale. The structuring of a network of strategic partnerships with the most important financial operators is one of the main intervention tools. The agreement with Mps represents an important initiative which consolidates our institutional role, aimed at increasing the competitiveness of the country”, declared Bernardo Mattarella, Chief Executive Officer of Mediocredito Centrale.

“The MPS Group wants to contribute to the growth of the country's production system and the agreement with Mediocredito Centrale is essential to enhance and accompany the excellences in their path of development and innovation in the South. This partnership allows us to strengthen our presence in the area with a concrete commitment and to be alongside companies to look with them at the challenges of the future", commented Giampiero Bergami, Chief Commercial Officer of Banca Mps.
