Mps, from the fall to the rescue

Balanced end of the week for the financial markets. The Ifo, the data on German confidence, slightly down to 108,5 but better than expected, contributes to favoring smooth sailing towards the weekend. Also the words of Mario Draghi, who said that "the outlook for the economy is the best for seven years" helps to reassure the situation.

In this setting, Monte Paschi provides true emotions, on the eve of the capital increase. The market initially rejected the price decided by the board of directors (1,17 for each new security, discount on the theoretical value of 395), with a minimum of 8.950. Then the trend reversed: the share rebounded to 9,70 euros with an increase of 3,6%. Goldman Sachs lowered the target to 10,5. Barclays reaffirmed underweight.

The Ftse Mib index in Piazza Affari is almost unchanged -0,08% to 32721. Paris -0,39%, Frankfurt -0,42% and Madrid -0,25% were also down. London advances +0,41%.

Alexis Tsipras, after the meetings in Riga with Angela Merkel and François Hollande, he said he was very optimistic about an agreement between Greece and the EU. However, the real negotiations will take place next week in Dresden.

Azimut suffers again in Piazza Affari -2,3%: the market expects further sales by Timone Fiduciaria, representative of the employee-shareholder block union. Among the banks, Bper stands out +1,1% on the wave of the promotion contained in a report on Italian banks by Goldman Sachs (target raised to 11,40, buy rating).

Almost unchanged Eni -0,06% after the start of the road show by CEO Claudio Descalzi in New York. JP Morgan has raised its target from underweight to neutral.

Strong decline Seat Pg -10,64% at 0,042 euro after the announcement of the takeover bid for 0,039 euro by Italiaonline, controlled by Naguib Sawiris. Once the offer is completed, there will be a merger of the buyer in the same Seat which will remain listed. Telecom unchanged: the market does not react to the news of the forthcoming Inwit IPO.
