Following the 5 billion euro capital increase carried out a few months ago by the Italian bank, the French group Axa lightened its position in Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena. In fact, the insurance group communicated to Consob that on the date of completion of the capital increase (9 July last) the share it held between direct and indirect ownership (through a dozen subsidiaries) was equal to 3,17% of the capital.
In May, during the extraordinary meeting which resolved on the increase, according to the results of the shareholder register, Axa held a 3,725% stake in the capital of the Rocca Salimbeni bank. In mid-afternoon the Mps title, which in the morning came close to 0,6 euros, earns just over half a percentage point in Piazza Affari a €0,584 per share.
