Moncler: sales +17%, profit -1%

Moncler ended the first half with a net profit of 33,6 million, down about 1% on an annual basis. Revenues rose by 17% to 346,5 million, while the gross margin increased to 256,8 million (from 215) and Ebit by 12%, to 53,5 million. Net financial debt increased to 84,9 million from 49,6 million at the end of 2015, but was down compared to 175,3 million in June 2015.

“I am extremely satisfied with the results we achieved in the first six months of 2016 – commented Moncler's CEO, Remo Ruffini -. In a complex general situation for the luxury goods sector, Moncler recorded double-digit sales growth (+17%), with positive performances in all the markets and in all the distribution channels in which it operates”.

Ruffini then said he was "confident that 2016 will see further growth in results". For the entire year, therefore, "despite the still uncertain international picture, Moncler foresees a scenario of further growth, based on the following strategic guidelines: international development, careful expansion of the product range, focus on the consumer, strengthening of the brand, development of long-term, sustainable and responsible business”.
