Thousands of Italians risk having to pay next year a mini Tasi and a mini Imu. The problem is with the 866 Municipalities in which the administrations have established rates different from those of 2014 by approving the resolution after the deadline of 30 July, the last day to give the green light to the budget estimates (only the mayors of Sicily had been granted an extension until 30 September).
Last Friday, the Undersecretary for the Economy was in the Finance Committee of the Chamber Henry Zanetti he ensured that the Government is at work to prevent taxpayers from being called to the cash desk for unexpected payments. Now, however, time is running out, given that the deadline to settle the second installment of Imu and Tasi 2015 expires Wednesday 16 December.
The new case opened at the beginning of November, when an amendment by the Democratic Party to the Stability law was approved which an amnesty for the resolutions on local taxes approved from 30 July to 30 September. The rule will enter into force only on January 2016, XNUMX, so in theory it has no effect on this month's payment, but could imply a new tax obligation next year.
Then it would be a matter of paying an adjustment on the Imu and Tasi for the whole of 2015 (therefore first and second installment) equal to the difference between the amounts calculated with the new rates and those that were actually paid this year with the 2014 thresholds.
Confusion would be ensured, because it would be necessary to redo the calculations on all the properties - not just on the first house -, handling a quantity of rates that would give you a headache. Unless the Government finds a solution within a few days.
