Milan Fashion Week: Next Trend fashion show at the bank

Intesa Sanpaolo participates in Milan Fashion Week scheduled from 17 to 23 September with the Next Trend fashion show: one hundred different outfits, ten talented stylists, which will take place on Sunday 22 September at 18 pm in the historic Palazzo delle Colonne in via Verdi 8 where 10 Italian stylists from Bologna, Florence, Mantua, Milan, Naples, Udine and Vercelli will parade. After participation in MFW 2017 and AltaRoma 2018 fashion week, the initiatives of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group continue in support of one of the main success factors of the Italian economy.

Indeed, according to a study carried out by the Intesa Sanpaolo Studies and Research Department, the Italian fashion system, which includes textiles, clothing, footwear and leather goods, is a key sector for the economy: with more than 24 billion euros of added value generated, it represents 10,6% of manufacturing and employs around 500 people, or 13% of the workers employed overall in Italian manufacturing. It's not just a national excellence. Made in Italy fashion, in fact, also maintains its leadership in Europe, both in terms of production and added value. Slightly less than 40% of the added value generated by the European Union's fashion system can be associated with Italy, a share equal to three times that of Germany, four times that of Spain and five times that of France.

The analysis continues by highlighting how the growth fundamentals of the Italian fashion system remain solid despite a complex scenario. In the first seven months of 2019 the turnover of the fashion system increased at current prices by 3% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, thanks to the driving force of the leather supply chain (+8,1% yoy). Signs of stability then came from clothing sales (+0,8%), while the upstream textile producers experienced a slight decline (-1%). Once again, the Italian companies in the fashion system have achieved excellent performance on foreign markets, where they have achieved a growth in exports of 7,9%, with peaks of +10,8% in the leather supply chain and progress of 9,9 .XNUMX% in the clothing sector.

Stefano Barrese, head of the Banca dei Territori division of Intesa Sanpaolo: “Fashion is one of the driving sectors not only for the city of Milan, but above all for the country's economy. Our Bank becomes a growth platform by offering companies not only the necessary financial support, but also an opportunity for visibility during an important event such as fashion week and a further boost towards growth in foreign markets. We therefore continue today the path undertaken with Imprese Vincenti, the enhancement program dedicated to 120 SMEs, including 40 belonging to this sector".

In view of the appointment on Sunday 22 September, the historic Milanese branch in via Verdi in which the 'Zodiac' stands out, the large central clock in embossed and gilded copper made in 1941 by the master Giacomo Manzù, in line with the principles of sharing and involvement that Intesa Sanpaolo promotes with great impact throughout Italy, will welcome inside the catwalk on which the collections designed by ten companies in the sector from all over Italy will parade.
