Milan, Berlusconi: the Chinese don't have the money

Broadsides from the former president on the new ownership: "If the team continues to go so badly, it is possible that the Elliott fund will take over in the spring, but the real problem is that without the Champions League the budget red would exceed 100 million euros". Milan, Berlusconi: the Chinese don't have the money

The former Rossoneri president Silvio Berlusconi spoke to Telelombardia in the evening, launching authentic broadsides towards the current Chinese ownership of Milan: “I heard that there is already some financial problems, I'm worried about Mr. Li's silence. If the team continues to go so badly, it is possible that the Elliott fund will take over in the spring, but the real problem is that without the Champions League, the budget deficit would exceed 100 million euros".

The move to Elliott could be the prelude to another sale, but the conditions would not be advantageous: “Whoever were to buy the club would certainly pay little compared to its real value, but would have to recover for very heavy passive years. It's not a good prospect."

Berlusconi's outcry is another tile that falls on Milan, who are grappling with both financial and sporting problems. Speaking of the latter, if Milan fail to beat Chievo tomorrow and make a good impression on Saturday against Juve, Montella's fate would be sealed: the former Fiorentina coach Paulo Souza has been contacted as a possible successor as a precaution.
