Migrants, Juncker: Heroic Italy. And Gentiles….

"For a long time as a Commission we have been convinced that we cannot abandon either Italy or Greece", said the president of the European Commission - Prime Minister Gentiloni: "Europe give us concrete help".

“I also used this opportunity to convey to my European colleagues my extreme concern about the risk of an accentuation of migratory flows in recent days, emphasizing the extreme concern for the risk of accentuating migratory flows, in the last few days in particular, towards our country”. These are the words of Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni in the preparatory summit of the G20 at the Chancellery in Berlin: the Italian Prime Minister launched an appeal to his European colleagues, hoping that the concrete release of the commitments will arrive at the summit of European ministers in Tallinn.

"We have never shirked and will never shirk humanitarian commitments but we ask you to help us in terms of the resources available to work in Libya and in other countries and on relocation programs", added Gentiloni. He spoke of the heroism of Italy and Greece for their efforts to manage migration flows, the President of the European Commission, Jean Claude Juncker: “For a long time as a Commission we have been convinced that we cannot abandon either Italy or Greece. Together we must make efforts to support these two nations which are heroic”. While the President of the European Council, Donald Tusk asked the G20 leaders for a final document that contains a concrete reference to the fight against human traffickers: "I will ask to consider sanctions at European level and to put them on the United Nations blacklist" .
