Based on the forecasts, the Civil Protection in agreement with the Regions involved has issued a new weather alert

The perturbation of Atlantic origin which affected the northern regions and Tuscany on Friday with strong sirocco winds and bad weather, will also involve part of the central-southern Tyrrhenian regions in the next few hours and will register an intensification of the winds also on the Adriatic side. On the basis of the available forecasts, the Civil Protection Department, in agreement with the Regions involved - which are responsible for activating the civil protection systems in the territories concerned - has issued a further notice of adverse weather conditions which integrates and extends the one disseminated in the day yesterday. The weather phenomena, impacting the various areas of the country, could determine hydrogeological and hydraulic criticalities which are reported, in a national summary, in the criticality bulletin which can be consulted on the Department's website (www.protezionecivile.gov.it).

The notice provides, from late yesterday afternoon, strong winds or south-eastern storms on Emilia-Romagna, Marche, Abruzzo, Molise and Puglia, with more intense gusts on the coastal sectors, with possible storm surges along the exposed coasts. In addition, showers or thunderstorms are expected from the evening on Lazio, gradually transferring to Campania this morning, Saturday 15 October. The thunderstorm phenomena will be accompanied by heavy showers, frequent electrical activity, local hailstorms and strong gusts of wind.
