Mediobanca, ok ok repurchase of bonds for 1,4 billion

Mediobanca, as communicated by the institution itself in a note, has successfully closed the two voluntary offers to repurchase its bonds. the operation, from the total amount of 1.471.305.000 euros and which involved 60.475 members, is the most significant of those carried out in Italy with respect to retail investors by a domestic bank issuer. The bank's intention is to replace the amount repurchased through the issue of new securities which it intends to place by leveraging the Group's equity solidity.

The nine bonds subject to repurchase were identified by Mediobanca among those placed with retail investors between 2008 and 2009 and expiring in 2014: “the transaction – reads the note – allowed Mediobanca on the one hand to change the time distribution of its liabilities by reducing the concentration of those maturing in 2014 and on the other to achieve an efficient allocation of the significant liquidity available at the Institute”.

The institution has accepted all validly received applications for membership and will settle the consideration of the bonds conferred on 8 April 2013.
