THECompetition and Market Authority shut down the websites Bancodellasalute.it e officinalia. com for delivery failure of products sold online.
THEAntitrust has thus adopted a precautionary measure towards companies Tomorrowland srl e Pet clan srl, which operate through the two domains. The two companies were owned by the same person, Luca Rubens Rizzo, as shareholder and sole director of both companies.
There had been numerous consumer reports that once they made online purchases on the two sites, they did not receive any purchased products, refunds or assistance. The reports they had also reached the television broadcast "Strip the news" which had been handling the case with some services since December 2022.
Le negative reviews su Trustpilot Reviews Buy, the online platform that deals with reviews of companies worldwide, had reached 94% with reference to the "officinalia" site and 78% for "bancodellasalute".
Investigations started on 15 February
The Guarantor had initiated the investigations last February 15, informing the companies of the start of an investigation procedure and of the precautionary sub-procedure considering the assumptions of actuality and dangerousness of the conducts still in progress.
Tomorrowland srl and Pet Clan srl have not sent any memorandum or document in their defense and therefore theauthority has ordered, as a precautionary measure, the suspension of unlawful conduct. The unfair commercial conduct consisted in the publication of incorrect information on the availability and delivery times of the products, in the non-delivery of the products, in the failure to reimburse the amount paid by the consumer for the cancellation of the order or the withdrawal and in the absence after-sales assistance. Thus, access to the websites Bancodellasalute.it and officinalia.com was inhibited because they were instrumental to these offences. The intervention required the collaboration of the Antitrust Unit of the Guardia di Finanza.
What were the two sites selling?
The two sites sold products online at particularly affordable prices. "Bancodellasalute" which qualified as an online pharmacy (without authorization or license) sold drugs at super discounted prices while officinalia.com mainly sold pet food.
