Wall Street, after yesterday's records, opens in the red, tries to recover, but fails. At the moment, the lists are slightly below parity, in particular the Nasdaq, weighed down by Apple, the day after the presentation of the new iPhone X. Delays in deliveries and the price weigh on Cupertino, in addition to the fact that the shares have strengthened in a year of 38% and 10,2% in the last three months, also in view of the upcoming news.
The euro loses share against the dollar, -0,62%, 1,189. The greenback also recovered against the other major currencies, awaiting the inflation data which will be released tomorrow and which could provide useful indications to the Fed at next week's meeting.
Oil is traveling fast, again on the heels of the International Energy Agency saying the global glut of crude is starting to shrink. Today, however, the weekly data on US inventories is worse than expected and the overall stock is up. Brent +1,08%, 54,52 dollars a barrel. Gold in partial retreat: -0,74%, 1322,125 dollars an ounce. On the secondary side, the Italian paper closed weakly: the yield on the 10-year BTP rose to 2,11%, the spread with the Bund at 170.30 points, +1,25%.
In Piazza Affari the best blue chip is Unipol, +2,38%, which continues the rally started a few days ago; in tandem, the money also flows to Unipolsai +1,24%. Good Ynap +2,21%. Among the banks, Banco Bpm stands out, +1,68%, which still benefits from the 'buy' opinion of Ubs. In the Oil&Gas sector, number one is Tenaris +1,62%. Sale Buzzi, +1,37%, awarded by Mediobanca Securities with the promotion to "outperform" from "neutral".
The black shirt instead belongs to Mediaset, after Macquarie cut the target price to 2,1 euros in a report. The previous valuation, on the other hand, took into account the possible launch of a takeover bid by Vivendi, a hypothesis which seems to have cooled down with the latest developments, in particular with the hypothesis of freezing the 20% stake in Vivendi, thus as proposed to Agcom, which today examined the matter. Sales also on Tim, -0,82%. Vivendi (+2,78%) on the contrary stands out in Paris, as the best big of the day.
The downward phase of Luxottica continues, -2,24%, which pays the penalty for possible delays in the aggregation with Essilor. Utilities are down, in particular Terna -1,36% and Italgas -0,97%.
