The international collaborations of the Maxxi in Rome continue. The National Museum of XXI Arts century will host from today, 22 May, until 8 September 2019, over 50 works by some of the main masters of the international and Spanish, modern and contemporary art scene. The works all come from the collection IVAM, the Institut Valencia d'Art Modern, one of the best-known modern art museums in Spain and known for the historical masterpieces of Spanish and international art it possesses.
The exhibition is part of Expanding The Horizon, the series of exhibitions dedicated to the development of international collaborations between the museum of modern art in Rome, other cultural institutions and private collections.
The title of the exhibition is North of the storm. From Robert Rauschenberg to Juan Munoz and takes its name from a 1986 work by the famous Spanish artist Juan Muñoz, North of the storm. Some works by Bruce Nauman, Robert Rauschenberg, Tony Cragg, Antoni Tàpies, Cristina Iglesias, Susana Solano, Ángeles Marco will also be transferred to the Maxxi.
In 2020, reciprocally, a focus on the MAXXI collection will be hosted within the halls of the IVAM.
