The death toll in Florida rose to six after the passage of hurricane Matthew, which instead caused at least nine hundred deaths in Haiti, bringing 85% of the Caribbean country to its knees. Matthew is now heading towards South Carolina, but has lost strength and has been downgraded to a category 1, with 136 mph winds and heavy thunderstorms. However, President Obama invites attention not to wane: "It's not over". Meanwhile, the death toll in Haiti could rise dramatically, it is feared that there will be thousands in the end.
