Marchisio miracle: no injury and much relief for Juve and Italy

Juventus and the national team breathe a huge sigh of relief – Unlike the first diagnoses, the Fornaca clinic in Turin which visited the Juventus midfielder yesterday evening found, after two MRI scans, that Marchisio has no crusader injury in his right knee – The examination will perhaps put an end to the Elkann-Conte controversy

After a day of anxiety and desperation and after furious controversies between John Elkann and Antonio Conte on the workloads in the national team, the news arrived in the evening that no one expected and which represents a kind of miracle: Claudio Marchisio, the talented Juventus midfielder and Italy, has no crusader injury in his right knee, unlike what was initially diagnosed by the national team doctor, professor Castellacci. This was communicated by the Fornaca clinic in Turin where the player underwent two MRIs.

Now Marchisio will have to spend days of absolute rest and his condition will be constantly monitored but in all probability he will be able to continue to be the protagonist of the season finale in Juventus and in the national team.

“You have sent me so many good luck that the situation is better, much better than expected” Marchisio tweeted with joy, who thanked everyone for the affection shown to him.

But before the sigh of relief, rags had flown between John Elkann, the president of FCA and a huge fan of Juve like his grandfather Gianni Agnelli, and the coach of the national team, Antonio Conte. Elkann had accused Conte for the workloads in the national team and Conte had replied by saying that when he coached Juve Elkann had never asked him about workloads. Elkann's rejoinder: "The job of selector is different from that of coach: does Conte want to go down in history as the selector of the national team who collects the highest number of injuries among his players?"

And to think that Conte's Italy will play the next friendly at the beginning of next week right at the Juventus Stadium in TurinTbut perhaps Marchisio's happy ending will reconcile everyone. Or so one hopes.
