By the end of the year “most likely there will be another thousand hires in the Melfi district“. This was stated by the CEO of FCA, Sergio Marchionne, on the sidelines of Prime Minister Matteo Renzi's visit to the Lucanian factory, where a thousand people had already been hired in recent months. “Now there are 12 people in the district – recalled Marchionne -. This is an establishment that works, it's a great story. There is an enthusiasm in our workers that is exceptional”.

"In the coming months - remarked the CEO of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and president of Ferrari - we will reach 8 employees, against 5.900 in 2014, while the automotive sector will employ around 15 people throughout the district”. Two minisuvs Jeep Renegade and Fiat 500 X are currently being assembled in Basilicata, in addition to the Grande Punto. In 2015 the Melfi plant should produce about 400 cars, marking the second highest level in the history of the plant (407 units produced in 1997).
