Macron: "Hacker attack against me"

Poisoned electoral campaign finale for the French presidential elections. In a surprise announcement, presidential candidate Emmanuel Macron's staff announced that they were the victim of a "massive and coordinated" hacker attack which led to the "dissemination of internal information of a different nature".

This is what was denounced in a press release released during the night by 'En Marche!', which speaks of an attempt "to destabilize the French presidential elections" similar to the one that took place in the United States last year. Tens of thousands of emails, photos and attachments were "downloaded weeks ago through the hacking of the personal and professional email boxes of many leaders of the movement and mixed with false documents to sow doubt and disinformation," reads the statement published a few minutes before the midnight deadline for electoral silence. According to what emerged, a user calling himself Emleaks would have published at least nine gigabytes of data, but for Macron's En Marche movement the documents coming from the hacker attack are "all legal and an expression of the normal functioning of a presidential campaign".
