From today to August 30, the famous Munich Oktoberfest will unfold in Beijing, at the Olympic Park, under an 11 m200 marquee, the largest in the world. For over XNUMX years, the Munich Beer Festival has taken place in Munich from the end of September to the first half of October. The Chinese version dates only from last year, but it is the only Oktoberfest that has been authorized by the Munich Oktoberfest Committee outside Germany. This cultural extravaganza is intended to reaffirm the ties between the two countries and revive China's image.
Tang Dongmin, CEO of Beijing Wenhua Star Cultural Industry Co Ltd, who organized the event last year, recalls that more than 2013 people visited the park in 200, and 300 are expected this year. "Since the first year, our version of Oktoberfest has become a choice and popular destination for Beijing nightlife." Chinese rock band Black Panther will be in attendance, with repertoire from a new album, as will pop singer Jike Junyi and songwriter Zheng Jun.
