The President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, begins to build the new staff of the Quirinale by appointing his first three advisers, chosen among long-standing collaborators.
Simone Guerrini, who was in charge of institutional relations at Finmeccanica and who was Mattarella's head of secretariat for the vice-presidency of the Council and for Defense, has become the adviser to the President and director of the secretarial office of the Head of State.
Giovanni Grasso, journalist of the newspaper "Avvenire" is the new spokesman and director of the press office of the Quirinale.
Gianfranco Astori (pictured opposite), former DC MP and undersecretary and former mayor of Varallo Sesia, former director of the Asca agency as well as Mattarella's advisor to the vice-presidency of the Council and Defense, has been appointed advisor to the President for information. Last year Astori spoke on FIRSTonline with a speech on the theme "Will we die Christian Democrats?".
