Libya: Gaddafi located in Sirte, loyalists bomb Tripoli airport

Gaddafi would have been identified in the area of Sirte, his hometown. This is what sources from the Elysée, close to President Nicolas Sarkozy, say. For this reason, the British Ministry of Defense has announced that RAF Tornadoes have bombed a vast bunker in Sirte with high-precision missiles.
"The attack on the bunker - British defense minister Liam Fox explained to the BBC - serves to ensure that there is no alternative command center in case the regime should try to leave Tripoli". Meanwhile, forces loyal to Gaddafi have bombed Tripoli airport, damaging an aircraft. This was reported by Al Arabiya, according to which there was a violent shooting between rebels and government militias near the airport.
While the fighting is ongoing, consultations have been launched between the EU, member states and international partners on the unfreezing of Libyan goods and assets frozen by international sanctions. "The objective is that these assets do not fall into the hands of Gaddafi but go to the NTC", explained Maja Kocijancic, spokeswoman for the EU High Commissioner for foreign policy.
Franco Frattini, Italian Foreign Minister, revealed in an interview with Avvenire that Italy has proof and "can't turn a blind eye" to orders given by Colonel Gaddafi such as that of "turning Lampedusa into hell and terrible messages from the Libyan government authorities such as the order to disguise military corpses with civilian clothes to place their blame on NATO”.
