The former minister Altero Matteoli died today in a car accident on the Via Aurelia near Capalbio.
According to the first information provided by the firefighters, at least two cars were involved in the accident. Three wounded. Immediate help and the intervention of the Fire Brigade. According to reports from Ansa, Matteoli had been extracted from the wreckage of the car at the end of his life: the doctors attempted to revive him on the spot but there was nothing they could do.
Tuscan, born in Cecina (Livorno), Matteoli was 77 years old. He was Minister of the Environment and Land Protection from 2001 to 2006 and Minister of Infrastructure and Transport from May 2008 to November 2011.
