Emilia focuses on historic homes: Castello Tabiano opens at the weekend

For the first time in its millennial history, the Castle of Tabiano opens its doors to the public. It is one of the most scenic medieval fortresses in Upper Emilia, home to legendary characters such as Obert the Great, which will be accessible on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 May.

In addition to the fortress of Oberto il Grande, there will be many castles, palaces and gardens made available by the members of the National Association of Historic Houses, as announced by the new president of the Association, Gaddo della Gherardesca, on the occasion of the opening to the public of the Castle of Tabiano.

The initiative is part of the project, promoted by Emilia Region, to give life to a circuit of castles, fortresses, fortresses born for military purposes and transform them into attractions for international tourism, as announced by the regional tourism councilor Andrea Corsini, who aims to bring the castles and historic houses of Emilia in the spotlight at the World Travel Market to be held in early November in London.

In particular, the castle of Tabiano and its ancient village renovated into a relais de charme will thus enter the circuit of historic houses, fortresses and fortresses born for military purposes on which to focus for international tourism. To do this, it will have to go through an alliance between private individuals and institutions, to enhance the tourist appeal of Emilia, bringing together excellent food (Parma, recalled the councilor Cristiano Casa, is home to the Academia Barilla and has been nominated by UNESCO 'Creative city for gastronomy'), culture, the Verdi festival, but also spas with well-known locations such as Salsomaggiore and Tabiano, in a new formula that combines health, relaxation and wellness, without forgetting the luxury industry and fashion with the nearby Fidenza Village, one of the largest outlets in Europe.
