Stm +0,70% and GlobalFoundries announced today that they have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a new jointly operated 300mm silicon wafer semiconductor manufacturing facility adjacent to ST's existing 300mm facility in Crolles, France. This plant, investment value € 4 billion, it is expected to be fully operational by 2026, with the equivalent production of up to 620.000 300 mm wafers per year. For the new plant, ST and GF will receive significant financial support from the French state.
