The motions of no confidence in the Lecornu government have been sent back to sender. Today in France the National Assembly rejected by a few votes the motion presented by the radical left of LFI against the government, as the PS decided to give a chance to the Prime Minister, Sebastien Lecornu, in exchange for the promise of suspend the pension reform until the presidential elections. The deputies then rejected a second motion presented by the far-right RN. Lecornu, therefore, goes ahead and prepares for the parliamentary battle over the budget.
In total, 271 deputies They voted in favor of the motion presented by LFI, the one with the best chance of passing. This was insufficient to reach the 289 votes needed to overthrow the government.

France, Lecornu government saved: how MPs voted
La motion of no confidence presented by La France Insoumise against the Lecornu II government was voted by only 271 deputies out of 577 (equal to 47%), stopping 18 votes short of an absolute majority necessary to bring down the government (289). It was supported by the Insoumis, the ecologists, the communists, the RN and the UDR in large majority (with the exception of three ecologists and two communists).
The groups of the central block (Renaissance, MoDem, Horizons), Les Républicains (Lr), the Socialist Party (Ps) and the Libertés, indépendants, outre-mer et territoires (Liot) group voted by a large majority against the motion, even if seven socialist deputies and one LR deputy have derogated to their group's line by voting in favor.
La second motion, presented by the RN and the UDR, was voted in by 144 of the 577 MPs (25%) and unanimously supported by the RN and UDR groups and by three of the 50 Republicans. All others chose not to vote in favor.
