Draghi's words on the weakness of the recovery freeze the stock exchanges: Piazza Affari (-1,4%) is the worst

The stock markets are all in the red after the words of the ECB president (“The recovery loses momentum”) and the declining opening of Wall Street – Milan loses 1,4% – Sharp declines in luxury – Two-speed banks – The coupon hits Stm – Bpm and Fiat go against the trend – Enel and Mediolanum also defend themselves.

Perfect storm on Piazza Affari, once again bringing up the rear in a difficult session for the markets. The index Ftse Eb it falls by 1,43%, to 20.673 points. The descent of the other price lists is less heavy: Paris -0,42% Frankfurt -0,51% Madrid -0,49%. London it retreats to 0,94%.

The fall has several causes: the negative signals coming from China, the new one fall in orders and in Italian industrial production. They joined later in the afternoon the alarmed words of Mario Draghi on the economic situation in the eurozone and the surprise drop in European confidence.

All sectors are down at the end of the day. Heavy fall in luxury, driving up sales Prada (-4,4% on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange). In Milan, they slow down, with losses around 4%, Tod’s, Salvatore Ferragamo e Brunello Cucinelli.

Among the banks, the main ones hold: Unicredit lost 0,6% and Understanding fell 0,3%, but Banco Popolare lost 3,8%, Mediobanca -2,9% Popular Emilia -2,7% Ubi -2,3%. Stay positive Banca Pop.Milan, which gains 0,7%, Monte Paschi falls -3,2%.

On the rise Fiat (+0,7%) promoted by both Mediobanca and Barclays. Instead, back off Cnh Industrial (-2,4%): Piazzetta Cuccia recommends selling and channeling capital to Fiat. 

Heavy the decline of StM (-2,8%) which paid a second tranche of dividend this morning. On the other hand, the coupon effect was almost entirely recovered Eni (-0,3%). Among the oil companies Saipem loses 3%, Tenaris -1,7%. Enel closed down 0,3% after rumors that the Spanish subsidiary Endesa could pay an extraordinary double dividend. 

Quiet situation on the government bond market: the BTP the 10-year is trading at a yield of 2,36% (2,37% on Friday). spread unchanged at 134.
