Laziogate, the Region risks paying another 7 million to Fiorito & Co.

If the citizens of Lazio are called to the polls only in April - in conjunction with the policies - in the next seven months the "criminals" would remain in office for the "ordinary administration", continuing to receive their pharaonic salary - Fiorito in 2021, a only 50 years old, he will be able to collect the annuity of about 4 thousand that he himself created.

Laziogate, the Region risks paying another 7 million to Fiorito & Co.

"Er Batman" and associates risk costing the Lazio Region another seven million euros. And it is a conservative estimate: all inclusive, it could reach up to 52 million. Matter of procedures. It is true, the governor Renata Polverini has announced her resignation and together with her – statute in hand – the members of the Council and Giunta will also lose their jobs. But when will the next regional elections be held? If indeed the citizens of Lazio will be called to the polls only in April – in conjunction with the policies – over the next seven months the "malefactors" – as their own president called them two days ago – would remain in office for the "ordinary administration", continuing to receive their pharaonic salary. Hence the seven million, which – according to the Radicals' estimates – would become 52 if we add up the total expenses linked to the Regional Council.

Of course, the money for the functioning of the Pisana would have to be paid in any case and combining the two elections would guarantee the Region a certain saving. The problem will be to convince taxpayers to further subsidize the Laziogate caste.

Here it is explained the new battle on voting day. Polverini and the Executive seem to be oriented towards April, while a large part of the center-left opposition is pressing to speed up and vote a November. Once again the balance is the UDC, on which the pressure of the Pdl acts, for fear that the early elections could unleash a domino effect in Lombardy.

According to the data elaborated by the radical Antonella Casu, the councilors receive a gross indemnity in their pay packet of 9.362,91 per month. Added to these are the mileage reimbursement (variable) and the per diem (3.503,11 euros per month). It is then necessary to calculate an indemnity for the function, which varies from 2.311,43 euros to 595 euros net, depending on the position held. Finally, there is the so-called electoral contribution, recently halved, which stands at 2.095 euros per month. The gross result is between 16.500 thousand and over 19.500 thousand euros per month for each individual director. Not to mention the public money that was made available by the groups to individual directors, around 3 euros a month, frozen after the scandals of recent weeks.

In theory, from the resignation of the President of the Region, one cannot wait more than 90 days to fix the date of the vote. Then another 45 days of campaigning.

Whatever happens, in seven months the game may not be over yet. It turned out today that Franco Fiorito in 2021, at just 50 years of age, will be able to collect the annuity of around 4 thousand euros per month which is due to the former councilors of the Lazio region. Yet another little gift that will cash in thanks to an amendment proposed by the former PDL group leader alla Pisana and approved last December in the Budget Commission of the regional council. They had voted in favor of the PDL, the UDC, the Polverini List and the Storace List. Fortunately for "Batman", the cuts to annuities just voted by the Region will only come into force from the next legislature.
