The Turin-based coffee-producing group has announced the acquisition of the French brand, for a figure that should be between 700 and 750 million euros and which according to calculations will have a significant impact on Lavazza's turnover, set at 2015 billion in 1,4 and which in 2016 is estimated – after this important operation – at 1,7 billion.

The axis with France is therefore strengthened, which is the second market of the historic Piedmontese company. “Lavazza's acquisition of Carte Noire unites two companies that are similar in terms of history, level of image and culture of quality – he comments Antonio Baravalle, managing director della Lavazza, in a press conference in Paris -. At the same time, the complementarity of the respective consumer segments, which sees Lavazza among the leading brands in France in the away-from-home market and Carte Noire in the domestic one, paves the way for great development potential".

Lavazza also announced other innovations, including "the profound renewal of the industrial sites and significant investments in marketing, communication and innovation". Also confirmed the realization of the new management center in Turin, for which the company founded in 1895 has invested around one billion euros.
