The Arena di Verona meets Berlin: concert at the Italian embassy in Germany

UniCredit, HypoVereinsbank and the Italian Embassy in Berlin are proud to host for the seventh consecutive year the concert “L'Arena di Verona meets Berlin”, which will be held tomorrow evening at the Italian diplomatic headquarters in the German capital.

The opera singers of the Verona Arena will give the public special “tastes of Opera” and will invite them on a journey through European music. The event will be attended by artists such as Valeria Sepe (Soprano), Alice Marini (Mezzo soprano), Raffaele Abete (Tenor) and Alessio Verna (Baritone), accompanied by Fabio Fapanni on piano.

The annual event and reception, organized by UniCredit in collaboration with the Italian Embassy, has become a tradition in the Berlin art scene. About 250 personalities from the world of politics, economics and culture were invited to the concert. The event is also an example of the solid friendship and cooperation between the two peoples, Italian and German.

“The appointment with the great Italian opera is renewed for the seventh time in Berlin. And it will do so, as always, by paying homage to the highest European opera tradition – said the Italian Ambassador Pietro Benassi. I believe that this appointment, in addition to recalling the exceptional value that the Governments of Italy and Germany attribute to bilateral political, economic and cultural dialogue to face the common global challenges we are facing, this year takes on a particularly intense value: music it must continue to resonate and convey the values of tolerance and understanding among peoples. With splendid, evocative musical arias, we celebrate what Italy, Germany and Europe have best to present to the world: a unitary heritage of values, peace, freedom and respect for human rights, which together we will continue to preserve .”

“The Verona Arena meets Berlin concert – added the chairman of UniCredit, Giuseppe Vita – has become a regular and appreciated appointment in Italian-German relations that UniCredit is proud to support. Culture is a fundamental part of the life of Italians, Germans and all European citizens and can help bring people together. Today more than ever, in the light of the crises and emergencies that our continent has to face, harmonious cooperation between our countries is imperative. Today more than ever, we need a strong Europe that acts together. Closer European integration is the antidote to fear.”
