THE BAGS QUENCH THEIR QUERIES WITH THE 530 BILLION BCE. MPS AND UNICREDIT ALREADY CELEBRATE THE CHANGEOVER

After the positive start, the Stock Exchanges accelerated on the wave of the second extraordinary financing operation of the European banking system which closed with the assignment by the ECB of 530 billion euros to 800 banks. On 21 December, the first operation of this type (three-year tap repurchase agreements at 1%) had injected 489 billion euros of liquidity into the European banking system, responding to requests from 523 banks. 

In Milan, the FtseMib index rose by 0,63% to 16.448. London -0,09%, Paris +0,26%, Frankfurt +0,48%. The improvement is driven somewhat everywhere by banks, with the European Stoxx index for the sector rising by 1,6%. But in Milan, in addition to the Ltro factor, there are news on the presidency front: MontePaschi stands out with a gain of 3,68%, while the designation of Alessandro Profumo is getting closer and closer; Unicredit, after the resignation of the president Dieter Rampl (and the candidacy of Gian Maria Gros-Pietro) rises by 2,87%. Intesa rises by 0,41%, BancoPopolare +0,81%, Pop.Milano +1,37%, Ubi +2,58%.

The euro is unchanged this morning at 1,344 against the dollar, the same level as last night's close. The recovery of the ten-year BTP takes off with the yield falling to 5,26% (-8 basis points). The spread with the German Bund fell to 343 points, a breath from the low of the last four months, reached on 21 February at 342 points. "Historic" overtaking of the two-year BTP: the title falls below the yield of the Spanish one.

Good rise for Luxottica (+3,01%) after the fourth quarter results released yesterday evening. Management has given very positive indications for the current year. On the other hand, Mediaset's descent continues, down by 1,05%. Fondiaria-Sai is down -3,6%, while Premafin gains around 6,377%. Positive Eni +0,20% and Enel +0,29%, Telecom Italia down by 0,91%.

Among the minor titles, Aeffe rises +5,6% and Falck Renewables leaps +11,97%. Landi Renzo +2,72% continues its ascent. Arkimedica is in a volatility auction with a theoretical increase of 13% after the green light of the shareholders' and bondholders' meetings on capital increases and the restructuring of the convertible bond. Richard Ginori sells about 4,42%.
