The Stock Exchange runs and Mps pulls the sprint

Monte del Paschi superstar in Milan, where it is full of purchases (+12,8%), in a day overall aimed at good weather on all world markets. Piazza Affari is first in Europe, with the Ftse Mib at +2,02. The green wave, however, infects everyone and strengthens after the opening of Wall Street. The continental lists closed above 1%: Ftse Athens +1,14%, Ibex 35 +1,4%, Dax 30 +1,22%, Cac 40 +1,32%. The Ftse 100 is an exception, which at the end of the day marks +0,76%. In New York, optimism predominates in the wake of a series of better-than-expected quarterly earnings: Nasdaq 100 +1,28; Djia +0,59.

Mps is experiencing a day of redemption, while the board discusses the update of the industrial plan and evaluates the proposal from the former CEO of Intesa, Corrado Passera. According to Radiocor, Passera's project for strengthening the Bank's capital should have been presented to Consob by the banker in the afternoon.

And the entire banking sector seems to be gaining confidence and is brilliant, also following the go-ahead for the merger of Banco Popolare (+2,57%) and Banca Popolare di Milano (+2,48%) which are recovering ground compared to yesterday. In particular, the spotlights remain on Banca Popolare dell'Emilia-Romagna (+5,12%) and, outside the main list, on Credito Valtellinese.

Energies benefit from the rise in oil prices: Eni +1,8%, Tenaris +1,45%. In contrast to the performance of the price list: Salvatore Ferragamo -2%, Poste Italiane -1,4%, FCA -0,6%, Brembo -0,57%, Ferrari -0,4%). Prudence prevails for Ferragamo in anticipation of the next quarterly report and the first conference call of the new chief executive officer Eraldo Poletto, scheduled for November 14th.

Poste is experiencing a weak day and widens the declines in the final, in the wake of press reports on the tender for Pioneer, in which it participates in a consortium with Anima and Cdp. According to journalistic sources, Poste Italiane is studying a 2,5-3 billion loan with a pool of banks to support the offer, to which new funds would be added for 500 million of a further loan agreed by Anima and 300 million of its own funds put on the table by Cdp.

Asian stock markets closed higher this morning: Shanghai, Shenzhen and Hong Kong did well. A few hours after the opening, as we said, Wall Street is effervescent, thanks to the quarterly results higher than expected. The increases involve all 11 sectors of the S&P 500. The +1% of the health sector stands out where the UnitedHealth health insurance group advances by around 6% after forecasting strong growth in the business also for 2017.

Fly Netflix with a jump of more than 18% thanks to the strong increase in subscribers achieved in the third quarter. Goldman Sachs rises by 1,5% after beating market expectations with its quarterly results, confirming the trend that has already emerged with the accounts of the other competitors.

Accounts for great growth also for Johnson & Johnson, giant of body care products, with 4,27 billion dollars of profits and volumes up 4,2%, to 17,8 billion. Something doesn't roar as it should instead in the Harley-Davidson engines. Legendary Motorcycles' profit fell 18% to $114,1 million, in line with estimates amid declining demand in the industry.

Some well-known company accounts are also disclosed in Europe. The Manchester City reveals that the 2015-2016 financial year brought record revenues in the coffers of the property, i.e. of the sheikh of Abu Dhabi, Mansur bin Zayd Al Nahyan, 391,8 million pounds, +11% compared to 2014-2015, eighth consecutive improvement.

Ryanair on the other hand, queen of the low-cost airlines, announced from Dublin that it is forced to cut its profit forecasts for the current year by 5% and that average fares could fall more sharply this winter, due to the decline in the pound. Today, however, the British currency recovers some ground against the dollar and is exchanged above 1,22 dollars. The exchange rate of the green currency with the euro moved little.

Oil rose at the opening in New York, where prices rose by 0,98% to 50,43 dollars a barrel, even if there are still many uncertainties about the future. Gold rose in the US morning, after US inflation data, +0,3% in September, the biggest increase in the last five months. An acceleration that meets the Fed's goal, but that probably won't change the path for a rate hike.
