Fabrizio Saccomanni is the 2011 Bocconi “Alumnus”. The general manager of the Bank of Italy and candidate to succeed Mario Draghi at the helm of the institute on Via Nazionale will receive the award on 7 October. "A civil servant who has always lived his role with dedication and intelligence - reads the note from the University - with passion and competence, in the Bocconi tradition".
The award is given to a graduate or graduate of one of Bocconi University's five schools who has distinguished himself for “adherence to Bocconi's values of professionalism, enterprise, integrity, responsibility and openness to pluralism”. Pietro Guindani, president of the Bocconi Alumni Association, justified the choice by claiming that "Fabrizio Saccomanni has carried out his entire career in the name of merit, in a sector of extreme importance for the country's economy, distinguishing himself for professional excellence and for the spirit of service to the Italian and European institutions".
