Juncker: "No more walls for Europe"

The president of the EU Commission talks about the problem of migrants and points the finger at parties that fuel hatred towards foreigners - "Migrants are human beings like us, who were not lucky enough to be born in a rich region" - " Europe fails when selfishness and fear win out”.

Juncker: "No more walls for Europe"

“The Europe we want is the one without walls”. This was stated by the president of the EU Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, in an intervention published by “La Repubblica”.

The number one of the Brussels executive points the finger at "populism that produces hatred and no solution", fueling the refusal to welcome foreigners by different sections of the European population.

Migrants, Juncker continues, are "human human beings like us, only these people cannot live like us because they weren't lucky enough to be born in one of the richest regions of the world", so solidarity should be a natural fact , even if it is increasingly distant from common feeling.

“Europe – continues the president of the EU Commission – fails when selfishness has more voice than the solidarity present in large portions of our society”.

To find an effective solution to the migrant problem - concludes Juncker - strong cohesion is needed at the European level, by immediately implementing the European rules necessary to deal with the situation.
